Job Requirements:

In this role, MATRIX is seeking an experienced Camp/Kitchen Attendant for a camp located in British Columbia. You are team oriented, motivated, and have a high attention for details, accuracy and can prioritize tasks. You will play a key role at one of our remote exploration camps by performing all primary responsibilities in a timely manner independently. This position reports to the Camp Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform tasks according to safe work practices and safe job procedures
  • First cook of unsafe practices and unsafe environment
  • Report all incidents and accidents immediately
  • Practice good housekeeping in the work area at all times
  • Participate in daily Toolbox meetings
  • Perform dish washing as per Food Safety Plan
  • Perform cleaning and sanitization of all surfaces, equipment and small wares as per the Food Safety Plan and Covid protocol
  • Support food safe storage and labeling of potential food allergy items
  • Ensure food storage areas are organized
  • Participate in daily Toolbox meetings
  • Wash and replace bed linens as required
  • Clean and sanitize Dry Area
  • Clean common spaces at work site, TV room, dining room, laundry room

Required Knowledge & Experience:

  • Minimum of three (2) years working in a remote camp as a Camp/Kitchen Attendant
  • Organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Good communication skills
  • Highly motivated, team-oriented individual with attention to detail
  • Ability to work a rotation schedule
  • Physical ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
  • Able to lift and move heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform physical labor
  • Able to maintain a high level of performance over a 10 – 12 hour shift
