MATRIX is seeking Camp Managers on a rotational basis for projects across Canada in some of the most remote locations for our upcoming season. Due to the remote access to the job sites, resourcefulness will be a key aspect to the success of this role. You are team oriented, motivated, and have an acute eye for detail, accuracy, and excellent skill with prioritizing tasks.
This position is fully remote, in camp. Camp location is subject to change.
Life as a Remote Camp Manager are as follows:
- Remote work
- Facilities maintenance, Mechanical operations such as generators, plumbing and electrical systems
- Camp locations vary across Canada, including extreme arctic climate regions
- Work closely with Project Managers on any client relations
- Team player, hands-on support and overseeing staffing, i.e., working with onsite staff and head office
Requirements:
- Basic knowledge in Carpentry, Electrical, Plumbing & Mechanical
- 2-3 years as a Camp Manager in remote settings
- Excellent and Proven abilities to manage people, and maintain professional client relationships
- PAL license (for wildlife monitoring) – required.
- Level 1 Supervisor Ticket – required.
- Level 1 First Aid Certification or equivalent 2-day course – required
- Valid Driver’s License
- Physically demanding job. Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
- Proficient computer skills. MS Office programs (Word, Outlook, Excel, Office 365)
- Management, organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Positive attitude and a desire to help your team succeed.
Qualifications or proficiency with the following:
- Previous experience working in a remote camp setting
- Previous experience working with Diesel Generators, off-road vehicles and chainsaws
- Experience managing a crew
- Familiar using a Satellite phone
- Trades experience a definite asset.

- Responsible for cutting core samples to specified dimensions using specialized equipment (Core saws).

FIRST COOK OFA3 (FLY IN - FLY OUT)

MATRIX is looking for an experienced First Cook with an OFA3 certificate (equivalent to Advanced First Aid in Alberta and Ontario). You are team oriented, motivated, and have an acute eye for detail, accuracy, and excellent skill with prioritizing tasks. You will play a key role at one of our remote camps by performing or coordinating all catering both independently and within a team setting. In this position you will report to the Camp Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare service for three (3) daily meals; Buffet Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
- Prepare baked goods and desserts from scratch.
- Develop menus that reflect site preferences and dietary restrictions.
- Maintain sufficient food inventory for site resident numbers.
- Implement and execute a Food Safety Plan using advanced HACCP recording methods.
- Order, received, and properly store grocery orders.
- Liaise with grocers for quality, quantity and back orders.
- Maintain a well-organized and clean food storage area.
- Ensure the “first in first out” rotation procedures to support food inventory control.
- Execute safe food storage and labeling of potential food allergy items.
- Participate in daily toolbox meetings.
- Provide facility orientation to incoming kitchen staff.
- Conduct monthly worksite and kitchen facility inspections to ensure health and safety of workspace.
- Ensure kitchen staff performs tasks according to safe work practices and safe job procedures.
- Report any unsafe conditions and/or equipment to Camp Manager.
- Report all incidents and accidents immediately.
- Ensure good housekeeping in the work area at all times.
- Provide coaching and training to kitchen staff.
- Maintain a high performing, team orientated and productive work environment.
Required Knowledge & Experience
- OFA3 or EMR – This is required to be considered for the position, and Must be a current certification. Advanced First Aid (10 day course) is also acceptable.
- Minimum of three (3) years working in a remote camp as a First Cook.
- Excellent First Aid/Emergency Responder knowledge and experience.
- Management, organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Conflict resolution skills.
- Highly motivated, team-oriented individual with attention to detail.
- Ability to work a rotation schedule.
- Physical ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Able to lift and move heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform physical labor.
- Able to maintain a high level of performance over a 10 – 12 hour shift.
Preferred Licensing & Certifications:
- Food Safe Handling Certificate and WHMIS Certificate.
- Culinary Diploma and/or Red Seal Designation preferred
- Previous experience working in a remote camp setting.

We are seeking Underground Mechanics for one of our project sites located in Nunavut.
Job Requirements:
MATRIX is looking for experienced Journeyperson Underground Mechanics that are team oriented, adaptable, highly motivated, with acute attention for details. You will play a key role at our remote camps by supporting the team and ensuring that all the clients equipment is properly maintained and serviced. This position reports to the Team Lead and/or Maintenance Supervisors. Underground equipment experience is required, proficiency in Sandvik and Maclean equipment is required. This position will be working in a remote camp in Nunavut. This is a fly-in/fly-out position, on a 14 day rotation.
Responsibilities:
- Keeps equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules; installing component and part upgrades; controlling corrosion; completing winterization procedures.
- Corrects equipment deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, disassembling, assembling, and replacing major assemblies, components, parts, electrical, adjusting and alignments including bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches, and traction units.
- Familiar with Sandvik Scoops, Dumps, drills. As well as Underground crew trucks.
- Familiar with Maclean Bolters and support equipment.
- Verifies vehicle performance by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems.
- Oversee vehicle appearance by cleaning and washing.
- Maintains vehicle records by annotating services and repairs.
- Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
- Willing to work in remote sites outside of a shop.
- Arctic experience would be an asset.
- Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.
- Facilitate and or participate in daily tool box meetings.
- Ensure work environment meets corporate safety practices.
- Report unsafe conditions to immediate supervisor.
Preferred Licensing & Certifications:
- Journeyperson-Certified Heavy-Duty Mechanic/Interprovincial Red Seal Certification is required.
- A minimum 3-5 years mining equipment care and maintenance experience.
- Previous experience working as an Underground Mechanic in a remote camp setting is required.
- Must be familiar with Volvo Diesel Engines.

We are seeking detail-oriented and organized Warehouse Technician Workers to join our team at camp jobs located at various mine sites and remote locations. These seasonal positions play a critical role in supporting our clients’ warehousing and inventory management needs, ensuring smooth operations in challenging environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and document incoming shipments and crates of parts and materials, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to safety protocols.
- Unpack shipping containers and crates, verify goods against packing slips, and record material quantities accurately.
- Repack parts and materials into designated storage locations within the warehouse, maintaining organized bin locations.
- Manage inventory by conducting regular stock counts, tracking parts, and maintaining precise records to support site-wide inventory accuracy.
- Assist in the setup and organization of warehouse space, ensuring efficient workflow and safety compliance.
- Prepare and package parts and materials for shipment or distribution to various job sites, including remote locations.

Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a warehouse or inventory-related role; preferably in a remote camp setting.
- Previous experience in remote camp or remote site environments highly desired.
- Proven ability to work on your feet for long hours (up to 12 hours), including physically demanding tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, and repetitive movement.
- Ability to verify and record parts and materials accurately, with strong attention to detail.
- Experience unpacking shipping containers/crates, repacking, and managing parts inventory.
- Valid certification to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or other warehouse equipment is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain a well-organized workspace.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient with inventory management software, basic computer applications, and data recording.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
- Flexibility to work extended shifts, including overtime, and support staffing rotations starting around July 11th.
