Travel Logistics Coordinator

Full-Time Position

MATRIX is a national company providing camps, logistics and aviation management services to a diverse range of clients in the resource and service sectors. Terrace is the regional hub for northwestern BC supporting mining exploration camps with expediting, people movement and supplies. MATRIX’s safety and efficiency to our clients is of top priority.

MATRIX is currently seeking an organized individual that can handle multiple tasks at hand and prioritize based on sense of urgency.  You will be responsible for the organization, storage, and distribution of goods and people to our client’s worksites.  The Travel & Logistics Coordinator will report to the Logistics Manager.  This is a permanent full-time position located in Terrace, BC.

Responsibilities:

  • Work as a part of the operations team to plan execution strategies for remote camp projects
  • Book flights, hotels, rental vehicles, shuttles for projects in various locations across Canada
  • Assist Logistics team in logistics management and freight movement
  • Oversee the movement of staff from locations across Canada to various worksites
  • Assist the accounting team in billing travel expenses appropriately
  • Communicate crew change logistics to staff members in the field
  • Work with the Human Resources department and the operations department to optimize efficiency and cost effectiveness during crew changes
  • Risk management regarding different modes of transportation and create mitigations as necessary
  • Prepare information packages for incoming staff regarding logistics, equipment requirements, and expectations for their roles on site
  • Share “on call” responsibilities with the operations team to ensure coverage after-hours and on weekends. Flexible availability to react to travel changes after hours

Required Knowledge & Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Administrative or Operations/Logistics position
  • Must be a quick learner, think on your feet attitude, and can make decisions on the fly
  • Intermediate knowledge of  Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Previous experience working in mining or mineral exploration would be an asset
  • Knowledge of Canadian Geography would be an asset

Preferred Licensing & Certifications:

  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
  • Standard First Aid Level 1
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods
  • WHIMS 2015
